Another Day In Roma

I’m so thankful I was able to visit Rome once more and this time, I was able to see so much more of it. I arrived on Day 1 in Rome, took a nap, and settled into my hotel. Then I had a scheduled tour of Rome via Golf Cart through GetYourGuide. See the exact tour link here, and if you want the same tour guide as he was so kind and welcoming his name was Luca. It was a fantastic way to see Rome and so exhilarating as you traveled amongst cars and buses and maneuver your way through the city in this little golf cart. We made stops along the way for pictures and exploration of places such as Piazza Navona, the Pantheon, Sant’Ignazio of Loyola Church, Piazza Colonna, the Trevi Fountain, Piazza di San Marco, the Colosseum, and Parco Savello.

After our tour concluded, we made our way over to Vatican City by the Fontane di Piazza San Pietro. I let my aunt, uncle, and grandma explore inside St. Peter’s Basilica while I made the trek up to the dome within the church. That is a separate ticket and the view is worth the 500-plus steps up. If you want there is an option to take an elevator about halfway and then walk 300-plus steps up. I vote for that option as my knee was already asking for a break 20 steps in. However, once you are at the top you can walk around the dome and see the entire view of the city of Rome. It is breathtaking, to say the least.

Once I was down and done with the trek and views of the dome, thanks to a kind lady at the Vatican souvenir shop named Christina, we were able to dine at this well-hidden gem called La Cantina di Cesare. Make sure you ask for Marco as he was an amazing host and let us know that people from all over the world travel to his restaurant for his mother’s Roman-style tripe. I am not a tripe eater or lover but after tasting it at the restaurant, there was nothing better than that dish. We all ordered various dishes ranging from chicken and broccoli to carbonara with bacon, and a delicious-tasting rendition of cacio e pepe. For dessert, we tried it all. We had cheesecake, chocolate cake, and a dessert very similar to tiramisu but with a much lighter creamier taste. I highly recommended if you are in Rome to make a lunch or dinner stop at La Cantina di Cesare and you will not be disappointed. Take a look at the gallery below for pictures of the trip in Rome.
