Kayaking in Costa Rica

Last summer, I not only soaked up the sun and magic of France, but I also embarked on an exhilarating adventure in Costa Rica with my siblings—an experience that was an absolute first for me! As I’ve often shared, my passion for travel drives me to explore new places, often alongside people I’ve never met before. That’s why I can’t rave enough about EF Ultimate Break! It offers the perfect mix of meeting incredible new friends from around the world and immersing yourself in diverse cultures. It’s truly a win-win!

Just two weeks after returning from France, I was off to Costa Rica with my siblings, filled with excitement. Our journey began in San José, but we barely had time to catch our breath, as we had a thrilling 9-day itinerary packed with adventures. The next morning, we were up bright and early, setting off for the stunning Arenal region by bus. Along the way, we made an unforgettable pit stop at the best pineapple tour I’ve ever experienced!

Driving through sun-soaked fields, we learned about the different varieties of pineapples grown and where they end up around the world. Our charismatic guide kept us entertained with amusing anecdotes and jokes while slicing up fresh pineapples for us to sample. Let me tell you, it was the juiciest, most delicious pineapple I’ve ever tasted! Afterward, we refreshed ourselves with pineapple smoothies and enjoyed light snacks to fuel up for the next adventure: kayaking.

Once we arrived at Laguna de Arenal, the excitement hit full throttle. We paired up in kayaks, and I teamed up with my sister as we set out on the shimmering waters. Our guide mapped out a route for us, which led to a scenic swimming spot. The moment we hit the water, our group turned what was supposed to be a leisurely paddle into a spirited race to the swim break. To my delight, my sister and I found our rhythm and sped ahead, while others in the group lagged behind. It was all in good fun! When we finally reached the swim break, we jumped into the water, enjoying the coolness and snapping photos to capture the moment.

After our exhilarating day, we returned to the luxurious Arenal Paraíso Resort & Spa to freshen up before heading out for our welcome dinner in Fortuna. We dined at the Inspira Restaurant while the rain poured outside, creating the perfect backdrop for a cozy evening. This was our chance to bond with our fellow tour group members over delicious food. Once our appetites were satisfied, we were free to explore the local nightlife before heading back for a well-deserved rest, eagerly anticipating our next adventure at the breathtaking La Fortuna waterfall.

Stay tuned for more thrilling tales from my Costa Rican escapade!
